This success is probably due in large part to the accessibility, but especially to the eclecticism of the group, especially in the album Classical Mushroom, released in 2000, featuring titles mixing trance sounds and classical instruments (including guitar and piano). Infected Mushroom then produces other albums that are gaining increasing popularity among audiences, making this Israeli duo one of the largest psychedelic trance bands. The group's debut album, "The Gathering", was released in 1999, becoming a classic psychedelic trance genre. The name of the project, which literally means "infected mushroom", is taken from one of the punk rock bands in which Duvdev played and composed previously. The duo is enjoying increasing success it is one of the best known of its kind both nationally and internationally >.īefore meeting, Erez and Duvdev had been practicing music since childhood, especially the piano. The group was formed in 1996 by Amit Duvdevani and Erez Eisen. This is really an amazing album and a really refreshing break from Friends on Mushrooms.Infected Mushroom is a Israeli psychedelic trance musical duet from Haifa. My main complaint is that it is too short. Blue Swan 5 is great and was probably my favorite track on the first listen through. Aside from Fields of Grey(which for what it's worth is still a decent song), I'd say this is where the album picks up a bit and starts to get a little weird. I'd say that Pink Froid is probably the pinnacle turning point of the album. It flows into Yamakas in Space beautifully and then back to a dose of good vocals. I think that She Zoremet really sucks you in and prepares you for the rest of the album. Like they felt that they needed a featured track and didn't work very hard on it. I think that Fields of Grey is pretty mediocre though. I was afraid that with all of their recent collabs that they might've lost sight of what IM was and has been over the years. That was when I learned that CVII was happening and I'm so satisfied. I made a post on here a couple months ago asking about anything similar to the original CV.

Great stuff as always from Duvdev and Erez. Zoan Zound is really solid glitch hop, with twist of course. I also really enjoy the piano section in the second half. The space like ambience in the track is stellar. Lots of weird vocal stuff before the actual lyrics kick in that I really dig. She Zoremet is strange, but in a great way. This track just really caught my attention. The melody is great and I like the vocals a lot on this one. Animatronica was an obvious top song since the preview, super chill and over all fantastic. The intro is a highlight, gives me chills everytime, I wonder how it would've sounded with the intended vocals. But damn after that second listen I concluded that this album is incredible. I had to listen to some tracks twice to really appreciate them. This is definitely an album I'll be recommending to people who aren't really 'into' most trance, and in that sense I guess it does the exact thing it was meant to do: Converting Vegetarians. There's some define contenders though: 'Demons of Pain', 'Zoan Zound', 'Blue Swan 5' and 'Leopold' are all fantastic. It's hard to say what my favorite track is, as always, but I think it's safe to say that 'The Surgeon' was my favorite one. Still, it's a perfectly decent track and I'll definitely keep it in my playlist. I feel like they could have done more with what they had, having Sasha Grey there for the vocals. It has that really classic catchiness I was used to, tracks that made me groove along with my chair, air-drumming, air-guitarr and humming all at once. The latter half of the album is much more to my tastes, especially the last few tracks. The first half of the album is much more 'soft' than I was used to, coming from Infected Mushroom, and I'd still say that the whole album was a lot softer than their other ones.
